There are 3 deferred elections for a total of 7 seats during the second half of June along with another 2 local council by-elections. A total of 19 by-elections have already been called in July along with 1 in August whilst there are a further 18 known vacancies and impending vacancies, 8 in England, 6 in Scotland and 4 in Wales. Of the total 40 vacancies 11 are as a result of the resignations of the sitting councillors as they are now MPs.
