Partners, they both resigned after not attending Council for 8 months (under leaves of absence for ill health, despite canvassing during that period). Collins (of his real name Kevan) was exposed in newspapers for pretending to be the most decorated living British war veteran, when he never served in the forces and for marrying a woman while being already married to another one. They both left UKIP over the future of Manston Airport (which is tearing apart every administration in Thanet since a decade). Collins, who is blind, also tried to sue the UKIP group leader for discrimination after leaving the group (it was disallowed). They will also both face trial for shoplifting (in the same garden centre). Smith also face charges for assault and dangerous driving (in the same episode of alleged shoplifting).
