There are 6 by-elections in the last week of October. So far there are 21 identified during November, including one for 2 seats in Scotland, together with 3 already called in December. In addition there are another 13 known vacancies, 12 in England and 1 in Scotland, where there is as yet no date.
At the moment 26 of the total 136 seats already contested and current vacancies occurring since the general election are as a result of the sitting councillor resigning as they are now MPs.
